We heard back from the IRS today and found out that our application for tax-exempt status was approved. We are still waiting to hear back from Seattle Public Schools regarding the Arts Education Program Evaluation RFP that we submitted. Our founder also applied for the Echoing Green Fellowship and is planning to apply for support from The Mind Trust Fellowship as well.

We are currently working on putting together more materials that will be freely distributed on our website. Our Development Director recently created a lesson plan for teaching second and third grade students about neurobiology using a combination of activity, creative thinking/story telling, and coloring.

Dr. Buchanan is currently working on a white paper describing what it is that we do, and more importantly do not, know about the impact that poverty has on children's cognitive development.

December 20, 2012

We published the dissertation of Dr. Buchanan and will be updating our website regularly with his findings, what they mean for performing arts and creative educators, and the ramifications that they indicate for public policy.
